Without My Mom…

Without my mom…

Alex Eaves & his mom

I would not have someone who loves and supports me unconditionally.
I would not have had someone who saved cereal boxes and ran STAY VOCAL mailorder.
I would not have had someone who encouraged me to take my first touring merchandise job.
I would not have had someone who cared for me after my first surgery…and second, and third.
I would not have had someone who sat in the lodge and read while my friends and I snowboarded.
I would not have had someone who took me all over Massachusetts to go skateboarding.
I would not have had someone who helped me make a Charlotte Hornets themed basketball court.
I would not have had someone who drove me to all of my baseball games.
I would not have had someone who signed my detention slips and was on MY side. Well, usually.
I would not have had someone who bought me jigsaw puzzles to keep my mind occupied.
I would not have had someone who held me after a duck attacked my sock in Disney World.

Without my mom, I would not exist.
Today and every day Mom, I thank you and I love you.

Concert Venue In Stockton, CA: Full Of Music & Reuse

This past Sunday, I packed up the STAY VOCAL mobile and headed for Stockton, CA for Gowan & Goodwin’s Ole Tyme Punk Rock Swap and Flea Market. This event was one that I was really excited to be a part of, as it was my friend Middagh Goodwin who was putting it on at The Plea For Peace Center; the venue he runs with our mutual friend Mike Park.

Given that it was a flea market, it was obvious that the event would be full of reusing in the form of collectibles, music, and clothes. But what surprised me was the fact that a lot of the actual venue itself was full of reusing; from the building to the stage to the fence outside. There was even a bike repair shop on site, full of used parts! Needless to say, I had a great time and there will DEFINITELY be more to come in the future. Here’s a little photo recap.
